Update on the wee beastie

I have a running TR6 again.
You have no idea how happy that makes me.
Now its on to tuning it...

Re: Update on the wee beastie

YAY!

Now - On to VTR in July, right?

Re: Update on the wee beastie

No - it's during the week. I'm more likely to try to go to Carlisle this year if it's ready in time.

I'll try to make it to the TRials if the missus isn't dropping the sprog that w/e - she's due on the 15th and they start on the 20th.

Car looks way cool injected...

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Alan,

Congratulations! First Dale, then Bill, now you, all running and ready to roll. The gang is getting ready for summer.

Are you going to keep us in suspense or are you gonna show us that injection setup in a digital form known as a jpg file?

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Al---right, Alan. I know you are ready. And, for the car, too. What are ya'll having, or is it a surprise?

Re: Update on the wee beastie

A baby...
We'll find out which type when she goes back for the next scan on the 5th.

Paul, I have to tidy up the wiring before she's ready for a photoshoot. Give me a few days to make it pretty.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Wow! Congratulations on your new baby.

Now that IS important stuff. Car pics can wait....

Re: Update on the wee beastie

She's not new - I've had her nigh on two years.
Oh wait, you don't mean the TR6 do you.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Congratulations. Kids are the best thing we can invent, and if ya raise 'em right, they'll mow the grass.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Alan- Where did you say you put your fuel pump?

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Alan
good on you. I have not followed your progress (probably because I'm new to the forum) but have you installed a Lucas or after market injection system?
Regards
Craig

Trunk - floor mounted at the back in the well where the spare wheel used to be.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Craig, it's all custom. From the intake to the fuel tank.

With the distributor modifications I had to make, it's pretty fair to say that nothing is left that's stock except the coil and the plug wires.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

And it's all quite lovely, too.

<anxiously awaiting final 'publication'>

Now, about that .sig file.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Re: Update on the wee beastie

You can see some of the halfway pics at https://www.triumphowners.com/742
I *will* do some more as soon as I've had a chance to tidy up the engine bay. It looks like an explosion in a copper wiring factory right now.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

I'm very interested to see too.

I'm giving some serious thought to doing my own EFI in the near future.

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Alan,

It's great to hear good news from you. Good luck with the baby and congrats on the car.
Or should that be the other way around?

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Alan,

You have a spendid looking TR and you've
sure put a heap of work into it.

Congrats freom someone who really knows
the pain you went thru.

dale

Re: Update on the wee beastie

Dale, I think you had it worse. Most of my problems were caused by my own laziness - I should have done more of the work myself, then it would have been done right.

My car needed suspension, brakes and a valve job. It got - a lot more in the end...

If you do decide that you want to do it, pm me and I'll try to give you a few hints as to some of the pitfalls I fell into - might save you some time (and probably some money).

There are other options available which might be more suitable (certainly easier) than building the whole thing yourself - it depends on how much you want to do, and how much you want to spend.

Mine's only idling right now - I still have to tune it to run well.
