Update on BJ8 rebuild.

Just thought I would post an update as my BJ8 has finally returned from the body shop after 18 months of intensive care. The colour has changed from the old English white back to its original ice blue.
I am now in the process of rebuilding.

The date of manufacture was June 1964, and it would be great to get it back on the road for its 50th birthday.
I hope to collect the replated chrome work on Friday and MOT next week.

Better get my avatar updated too.

Bloody lovely !!!!!

Re: Update on BJ8 rebuild.

Short test drive today ( around a local car park) and mot booked for Thursday morning.

I plan on attempting the grill installation tomorrow but fear it will be a real pain.

Pleased how the car looks with the red interior.

Re: Update on BJ8 rebuild.

When installing the grill, take away the two splash guards first
Do not fasten each bolt all the way, but have them all in first

Succes !!

Re: Update on BJ8 rebuild.

One step closer!
Installed the grill today. What a pain. My hands and arms are shredded. I had to bend the tags on the surround to allow it to fit into the shroud but all looks pretty good.

Re: Update on BJ8 rebuild.

Passed the mot this morning with no problems so managed to go for a spin this afternoon. First drive for nearly two years.

Really pleased that I managed to get back on the road this week as its exactly 50 years since the cars build date.

Next big job is to fit the folding top.

Here are a few pics of my afternoon drive on a rare sunny day here in mid wales. ( excuse the missing trim)
