Off to the welding shop this morning to have the front crank bolt heated so I could remove it and recover the timeing change cover. Mission accomplished.

While we were talking, the guy is a welder not a mechanic he said do you have a air compresser in your garage. I said no I get along with electric tools. He said here have this one, free. Five gallon compressor. Works for me.

Now that just tops off a great week does it not. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hay I lied it is 5HP, 20 gal. Campbell Housfield and it runs.

I GOT AIR, hehe.
 
Those Campbell Hausfield's are great compressors.....my small one is one....keep oil in it & drain the tank occassionally & it'll last forever!
 
Called the compnay, they sent me email parts lists.

Now for some new gages and an air filter. Guess I must go to Kmart and get one of those compressor kits with the hose and such.
 
Check Lowes - or Home Depot - one of them is a ambell Hausfield dealer...think its Home Depot.

That front bolt can be a real bear. I managed to break my engine back plate trying to get mine loose (the engine was mounted to an engine stand and I was leaning on a breaker bar pretty hard with the crank blocked). I finally got an air compressor and an impact wrench, and it came off in two seconds.
 
As I have never in my life had air available I still trying to figure what to do with it, hehe. Oh I know paint, tools, etc etc. But wow, what a deal. Maybe the first order of business is a blast cabnet. No, my bits are done. Maybe a blast cabnet, hmm, same answer. Well I could pump up the tires, oh wait no tires yet. Sigh.
 
Go for that blast cabinet, Jack, that way I can send you all my dirty parts when I get to the restoration phase! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
