Unknown British sports car

Hi, during holidays in France, I spotted this car. It was on a French license plate as far as I can tell, though searching for that didn't provide me any information.
Here are the photos (Google Photos link)

To me it seems like a Aston DB3S, Jaguar C-type or something similar, but it just doesn't match any car properly. The combination of the grille, rear lights and seperate front windows doesn't make any sense to me. I was wondering if anybody would know what car this is.

You could be right the bonnet scoop is on the correct side for MGA cold feed to carbs. But I’m thinking kit
The rear lights wouldn’t have been sunken back into the body like that in period. And o don’t think you’d swap the side/indicator lights for a modern twin light set up if a “genuine” classic

In the US we call that "Frenched," it is an old hot rod and custom look.
