I am looking to save some $ and buy a Uni-Syn off Ebay for carb balancing. Are there different models/sizes of this tool? Which one works for MG SU carbs? Want to make sure I buy one that will work for the A.
This is a case of the older the better. I bought one a few years ago and it was a piece of c**p. I suspect there is only one manufacturer and they must be living on their reputation (or I got the only bad one). The tolerances were awful, for all practical purposes it was useless. On a small engine like an MG which doesn't draw much air at idle it was impossible to get the carbs anywhere near close as you couldn't set the unisyn tight enough to raise the air float. Bob
