Unfulfilled ambitions.....

Got any?

I probably have lots, but here's some that come to mind:

I'd like to visit the Isle of Man, Hadrian's Wall, Bryce Canyon National Park and Tuscany.

I'd like to learn to play the piano.

I'd like to own a Lotus Seven

I'd like to read War and Peace (again).

Yours?

Hadrian's Wall is over-rated. ;-) Still, if you're going to head up to northern England, it's worth a brief visit (even if most of it is ruins and there is only the occasional Roman fortress ruins). There are wonderful walks in the Bowness-on-Windermere area (and Cockermouth - Wordsworth country). I'd keep right on going and visit Scotland (up to Inverness).
Tuscany is fantastic (and I could go again and again).
On my to-do travel list is Macchu Piccu (Peru) and the Galapagos... which we're hoping to do in one big December trip (though not this coming one). Would also like to see Petra in Jordan. :yesnod:

Cars? Wouldn't mind re-finding a AH 100-4 like old times, or getting a Morgan 8+8.

take a ride in a Curtiss Jenny bi-plane (Truthfully, I'd like to learn to fly one)
go to Yosemite National Park
take a hiking tour of the UK.
There's lots more.... just depends on the priority.

My recent health issues put an end to a lot of 'em:

fly in a DC-3
fly in a Lockheed Constellation
drive cross country in my 1958 Mercedes

oh well ...

Tom

#1. I'd like to get my 67 Jaguar E-Type back on the road before I die (Not that far from this one [fixing the car that is])
#2. I'd like to visit Australia and New Zealand
#3. I'd like to learn to Scuba Dive
#4. I'd like to re-read The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
#5. I'd like to write and publish a book
#6. I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony

I was born in the north of England, but left as a child, so I'd like to have a real tour of that area.
And yes, I would like to cross over the wall and head north to see all those awful people the Romans were trying to keep out with it.

The hardest book I've ever read.

Read it many years ago and am reminded of that amusing line about it: "Better Dead Than Read." It's a tough slog. :yesnod:

Ah, similar to my wife (who was born in Leeds). The north country sure is beautiful (Keswick, Cockermouth, Windermere). There are some wonderful "walks" one can do of the entire wall. :yesnod:

Be the man my wife deserves

Finish college

Move to Hawaii

Ask a Rolls owner for Grey Poupon.

Photograph Wonder Woman's plane.

Rob a bank at gunpoint of all it's #2 pencils.

Find someone dressed up as the Planter's Peanuts mascot and kick him in th' nuts.

Yeah - to finish this danged sprite, so I can get out and drive it! :wall:

I wish I was the man that my Wife wishes I was

I wish I could have bought the cars I should have

I wish that people on the forum realize that I sincerely
want to help them.

I had the opportunity to buy incredible cars - but sold them
due to stupidity - I wish that I'd kept the right cars.

You got me stated - PLEASE don't go there.

WHIRLED PEAS!

Seriously, though - too numerous to mention.

Although, when I think about it, I'm pretty satisfied, actually. I've done more than I ever thought I would.

1. Restore and use a Crosley powered hydroplane

2. Fly a Grumman Goose

3. Drive a 50's vintage Gold Cup Allison powered Hydroplane (Ref. Slo-Mo-Shun (Lou Fagel!) or Such Crust etc)

There are several more.

To live until the day i die.

to pay off my mortgage
to pay off my debts
to bank some money
to travel without a care

simple things really.

Live long enuff to see the science community realize the cures for aging and diseases that'll kill me. :smirk:

A genie grant me ONE wish... it'd be that all I 'wish' for from then forward come true.

Scant hope for either, tho.
