Spitfire Unfortunate circumstances

Recently I bought a 1968 Spitfire.
Unfortunately it turned out to be one of the ones that were "transitional" early cars.
Requires the 1967 top supports that drop into sockets on the pillar and the corresponding top.
Next bad news: decoding the engine number shows it to be an 1147 Harold engine.
I was lucky enough to find an acceptable 1296cc block that needs refreshing and a fully reconditioned head with new valves and springs for an excellent price.
$300. for the block and $500 for the head. Also got a great deal on a complete rocker shaft with pedestals and rockers for $45.00.
Being an old fart on SS this has all stressed my bank account to the limit requiring me to space out my purchases by the month.
Still I've made good progress and in the meantime the car runs and is on the road.

You are a lucky man! Many of us get a "bargain", then soon discover it's not all that we thought it was, and it sits in a garage for decades.

How 'bout some engine photos, and maybe video or two?

I thought the car was a bargain when I bought it , now, not so much.
I'll shoot some pics as soon as the block arrives.
My buddy went to pick it up and will be back in a bit.

Be sure to use the Gt6 pistons for the bore job, as they are 1mm over std on the
Mk1 spit. and cost less. Need more? go .030 Gt6 pistons Total overbore .072 from stock.
