Reminds me of years ago when I got out of High School. Girl I was dating and I were sitting on the couch at her home when she announced that she was missing out by not dating lots of guys and told me it was better if I "forgot" her phone number and address and never came back. Now here's where I made my apparent mistake, i said "ok", and went home. When I got there the first thing I heard was my mom saying, "What did you say to that girl??". My response was to ask for details, to which I was told she was apparently locked in her room crying, her mom had called mine it seems. So I told what had happened, got scolded a bit and we never saw each other again for many years.
My though had been too logical when I said ok it seems. I'd figured that since we were both headed to different colleges in a couple months things were probably winding down anyway, and this was the pre internet/texting/cell age. But I guess I should have at least pretended to be devastated or something. That was on of my first lessons in what I still don't understand...
