Hey all, I'm looking at doing a little touch up on the Midget; repainting some rusty spots around the fenders and trying to keep the tinworm in check. Some of the undercoating has peeled away in places inside the fender wells and under the floor pans, but I saw in the VB catalog that Loctite makes a spray-on undercoating in a rattle can. Has anybody tried this stuff, or have any better recommendations?

I've had pretty good luck with the 3M stuff. Just make sure that the surface is prepped pretty well before you spray it. I think what ever type you chose, it just gets brittle with age and will crack and pop off eventually. I've not had any experience with the locktite brand but I would think that one would be as good as the other.

Where it is peeling/falling off scrape the edges back until you find undercoating that is still in good shape. If it is hard and beginning to come off this might turn out to be a bigger job than you think. As already pointed out clean and prep the areas that have been exposed. I can't remember the brand but there is a rubber based undercoating available. If I remember correctly it comes in a red and white can with some back lettering. I used it 5 years ago and it is still soft and flexible.
 
Rubberized undercoat available from your local PPG or similar paint distributor. Likewise, I can't remember the name, but this stuff is pretty good. It does get kinda hard, though. Ask any mechanic who does paint work ... they'd know.
 
Most important thing was already said - scrape back all loose undercoating until you get to a point where you can't get it off....otherwise, the rust worm can find a home behind the loose undercoating.
