Under the knife

 Way to go! Recovery will go well if you do what you're told. Hmm wonder if spouse/signifacant other has any special requests??? lol

I hope you asked for Whitworth screws!

Best of luck for a speedy recovery, Drew! Hang in there?

I'm in a boot for at least two weeks, and can't put any weight on it at all. Have to keep it up (toes above nose the doc said) for 48 hours. Docs and the hospital were great. I was at the University of Utah Orthopedic clinic, and wound up being worked on by the head of the ankle/foot department. A really good staff, I can't thank them enough. Very professional group that made me comfortable with the process start to finish. I'll happily do whatever they say I need to do in order to get better.

Small price to pay considering what it would have been like back when Tunebug was new.

Rejoyce in medicinal modernity!

Heal well, friend. At least you won't have to drink CAB thru a straw after a week. I went thru six weeks of "Nose down, 24/7" with that durn'd detached retina. A "propane" gas bubble to pressure it back against the rear wall...
gave up drinkin' CAB as it was awful thru that straw. :jester:

...but I can SEE yet.

I'm a big fan! Really, with the initial nerve block and now the meds, I'm in very little discomfort. Some, but perfectly manageable. All in all I've no complaints.

Only had CAB through a straw once -- that was out of a pitcher while in college. Drank it fast enough to not taste it. :thirsty:

Just a straw. Amazing how fast a couple of freshman can drain a pitcher if handed straws.
