Thanks for the link.... After reading, I think that this is a project best left to when I get a 1932 MG J with a gauge that would cost me a gazillion dollars to replace... :smirk:

A couple of friends in the club have offered to loan me a spare that I can use during intial run-up of the re-build. I will then buy a replacement gauge when the checkbook improves a bit...

As we all know.. every project will take more time and cost more money than we expected... :wall:
 
Alternately you could send the "dead" gauge to Nisonger for repair. Not inexpensive but warranted and you keep the original instrument. And less than a matching Smiths replacement.

Thanks for the referal to Nisonger.. I have been looking for a company to restore gauges for my business partner's Healey....

I will call them to see what a restoration of my WT/OP gauge will cost.. Thanks again... :thumbsup:
