Unbelieveable Metal Polish.......

I just discovered the most unbelieveable polish for aluminum, brass, etc. Mother's Billet Metal Polish . This stuff will bring aluminum to a mirror finish with little effort, unlike the umpteen other polishes I have tried over the years.
The only downside is they are very proud of the stuff, a little jar of the cream goes for about $14.00. But it seems to go a long, long way.
My Hint From Heloise for the day....

Bill you're right, that stuff is very good. I used it on the used Moto-Lita steering wheel I bought and it came out beautifully.

Hi Bill,

I use a lot of Mother's stuff. Their chrome polish is excellent and smells really, really good! Their rubber "Preserves" doesn't make rubber look oily and super shiney, like Armorall does. I also recommend their carnuba waxes.

I've used Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish for years - keeps the buffed carb tops shiny. The jar's about empty so I'll look for the billet polish. Thx
 
Have to disagree, at least on the Mother's carnauba wax. I find that even though it looks great after waxing, it doesn't last very long. I've been using Griot's carnauba wax for a few years since switching from Mother's and not only does it go on and come off easier but lasts much longer. Only problem I had witrh Griot's Garage was a jar of glass polish with a lid that wouldn't come off and they sent me a new jar for free!
Haven't tried the aluminum polish from Mother's though. Just my O, ymmv.
 
Never Dull "magic wadding" is another very good metal polish. It comes in a can, looks like fiberglass insulation, and is impregnated with a cleaning solution.
 
Never Dull and the similar "wad" type polishers are quite good, until I discovered the Mother's cream. The wad type polishes, like my wife uses for her silver, will shine but the Mother's makes even slightly dull smooth aluminum look like a mirror! I kid you not. My aluminum shrouds from GoodParts were shiney when new. Watermarked and dull miles later, I wished I had bought the stainless steel. Now, these babies are shinyer (sic?) than the polished stainless. Dang, I seem to be going on and on about something so simple. Must be a slow news day.
