... as imagined in a BMW commercial. Clever...

Yeah....right.
It's a beemer. Get the swabbies in the crash truck to push it over the side.
"Eject! Eject! Eject!"

Looks faked to me.

Looks faked to me.

:iagree: 100 %! Probably photoed the car in a big parking lot somewhere and computer generated the ship under it! The ship isn't real, it's an illusion, but it was well done though. For me, I was :highly_amused:! PJ

Sadly, if that gets to TV, there will be the stupid disclaimer "Professional driver, closed course. Do not attempt."

Don't know if they still do but used to be that a carrier fresh out of overhaul would take a number of older cars onboard and while running trials they would be used for catapult testing rather than risk a multi million dollar aircraft if it didn't work. I've heard that betting on which one would fly the furthest could be very lively.

The Navy has a very heavy test "car" they use to test catapults. They hook this sled up to the catapult and fling it off the deck. Hits the water and throws up a huge plume of spray.

Just why did you waste our time with an obviously faked commercial?

??? Car on a submarine isn't faked? LOL Racetrack on an aircraft carrier isn't faked? LOL :excitement:

errr, ummm, uhhh - I think the clue is in the first line of the first post: "... as imagined in a BMW commercial. "

Did someone miss that? :jester:

LOL Imagine that. :highly_amused:

If I was imagining there would be a hot woman, and the car would be something worth imagining.

No I suppose it doesn't nor does the venue. It could be a Yugo parked at a McDonalds and be worth watching.
