All -

My '52 A90 Atlantic has the bog-standard Austin Spiral Bevel Differential unit in it.

I was wondering if any of you know of a diff/axle specialist in the UK who might have some oddball parts for oddball UK diff units.

All I need a little brass pinion thrust washer (part #1G 7329).

TIA

Is that the same axle as the early (BN1) Austin-Healey 100?

might it not be easier to have machined locally?

healeynut,
if its a '52 four stud 4.11/1 its probably from the austin a70 hampshire/hereford bin, I've got one of those diffs from drum to drum, but I'm not dissasembling it for a little bit like that!, JPSmit's suggestion might be the way to go

also kipmotor.com does list A90 Atlantic parts - the axle isn't listed but the catalogue is out of date

Yes, it is basically the same axle as the BN1, but I think this particular part is a little different.

Looks like I'll have to have something machined, or just put the old one back in.

Yoou could try Hardy Engineering at Leatherhead; they do all cars but specialise in A-H so might know about yours, although it does seem a long way to ship a thrust washer!

I've used Competition Transmission Services to rebuild by Healey axle and they seem to have done a pretty good job. You might find they could provide the part, or help locate one....
