U.S. source to repair or replace Smith's gauge

Nisonger, the Smith's U.S. rep. does not have the parts. The gauge is for a 1948 Jaguar 3.5 Liter Saloon. It is model# X.49422/67.

Here is another that deals with Smiths Insturments

we use John Wolf 440-942-0083.

warning - he is expensive AND slow (3-9 month turnaround, regardless of what he tells you)

but he is the BEST with smith gauges. His work is impeccable. I use nobody else, but I expect at least a 6 month wait. If he does it 3, great.

Well, that would have been my first recommendation! YOu might also try emailing David Beals in UK at d.beales@ntlworld.com He is an old Daimler expert but may be of help.

I have a friend with an E type that had a fried speedo. He sent it to the gauge guys mentioned above. He tells me the price was fair, and the turn around time was good. He would not get more specific than that, but he is a cagey guy anyway.

Re: U.S. source to repair or replace Smith's gaug

The Guage Guys quoted me a little more for repair of my temp guage than Nisonger did, BUT the Guage Guys turn around time was MUCH shorter. Can you wait? If so go with Nisonger there a little cheaper {at least for my temp guage they were} If you can`t wait go with the Guage Guys or someone else.

I got my M.C. {Dual Master Cylinder} back from Apple today @ $217.00 looks like new, good turn around time, {about 14 days} 7 of which were my fault for choosing the U.P.S. ground frieght. All in all I`m happy with the results.

I've used Nisonger for years. Reliable, thorough and right the first time.

Apple has done many sleeves for us, as has White Post. Lots of old Rolls cylinders. I'd likely use Apple for any of my own cars.
