U-joint replacement schedule

I replaced all the existing U-joints in my TR6
with Spicer U-joints. I am close to 2,000 miles
driven on the Spicers. How reliable are they?
What is their usual service life.
Should they be replaced how often??

I do have a few spare Spicers but that's a heck
of a job trying to replace a failed one on the
side of the road. I'd rather do it on jackstands.

Just getting my ducks in order is all.

thanks

They'll be there a LOOOOONNGGG time, Dale - prolly outlast you!

Seriously, they should give 50k - 100k miles, properly installed and lubed.

Dale: Do you have too much free time? Believe me , considering the kind of mileage you do, you will be old and grey before you need new u-joints. :yesnod:

<span style="color: #990000">Nope Frank- just planning ahead for my cross island run.
I am going over the list of items that have failed before
and I will replace them as needed BEFORE my attempt.

PS: I installed regular grade trailing arm rubber bushings.
They also have 2000 miles on them. I'm real tempted to rebuild
the rear suspension again-- before I attempt a major run.

Dale: These cars go 100,000 miles or more all on the same parts.....

But then, we do have to factor in the Crypty factor....

Okay, monthly, just to be safe....

LOL,

No....really...what they said.
