Tyres in the US & Can - White markings / logos

Hi All,
I notice that lots of tires over your way have white graphics/text on them which gives the cars a really good motorsport look. I NEVER see them over here in the UK but wish there were more. Seems to me its the best look on a road-race GT6 and I'd love to put some on mine one day. Do you just paint the logos in by hand or are tyres like that readily available from tyre stores?
I think i'd get strung up by some of the locals if i DID put them on mine, seeing that they already don't like the 'alternative' grille and front spoiler.

Cheers, Ben

The raised white letters are manufactured that way. They are either losing popularity or I'm just not noticing them anymore. Look at tirerack.com to find them.
Tire companies are now doing more with putting different colors in the treads. It must be popular with the younger crowd.
If you are into the white lettering, they make pens to color in the lettering on your tires. I've never seen this, but I'm sure it would be hard to make it look professional.
The Michelin X's that were on my TR3 when I bought it had white lettering. I believe they were the original tires.

Funny you mention painting the lettering. Forty years ago there were few tires on the market with white markings. I used to buy paint in little bottles that was labeled "tire paint" and spend hours painting the lettering.
