One - I love Cali cars. Just disassembled the roll bar fittings, links and shocks and everything came off like it was just put on last month. Not trying to gloat, I'm sure the guys from AZ and NM feel the same way, but it makes things so much easier. Having snapped several bolts clean off on the TR4 - and having it set there as a result - this experience is much better. LOL.

Two - changing the shock absorbers is super easy. Feel kind of dump for having my local British car mechanic do it for me on one of the other cars. If anyone out there is debating doing it but hasn't worked up the nerve yet - give it a try! If I found it easy you'll breeze through it as well.

Agree on the dry climate experience.
A little oil on the caged nuts when under the wing or body proper is also good insurance.
Had to take my seats out for the tranny change and oiled/anti siezed every nut in site...do the same under the TR3 wings whenever I remove a tire...just takes a sec.

LBC's are fascinating,

You either are antisiezing anything you put together so you can take it apart again down the road, or

You are gorilla snotting everything else so it doesn't shake loose.

go figure.

Ain't that the truth. I used anti-seize on EVERY fastener when I put the body back on the car, and EVERY bolt got new lock washers or nylocs!

Nothing like getting anti-seize all over everything...it just doesn't wipe up very easily. It took me quite awhile to get the technique down where I didn't make a mess.

Of course, I'll most likely be pushing up daisies before this thing needs to come apart again. I should've put it together with a rusting compound so the next guy can enjoy all the neat stuff I had to go through!
