TR6 twin dgvs on a tr6

i have run the vent to the front carb air cleaner housing as advised, eliminated the canister and run the fuel vent hose to a point under the frame. now as soon as i get my new radiator i can attempt to tune the carbs. just out of curiosity, with the webers, no vacuum hookup and electronic ignition, any suggestions on best timing adj.

Vacuum advance is a fuel economy thing, at wide open throttle there isn't vacuum, so no vacuum advance. I would set it to the recommended advance setting, see if it pings when accelerating from about 2000 RPM in top gear, and incrementally advance the timing until it does. Then back off a few degrees.

I like to use the intake manifold vacuum to indicate the engine's sweet spot rather than the questionable accuracy of the damper's timing marks, as far as ignition timing is concerned.
The vacuum fitting on your intake manifold that the brake servo connects to is the ideal place to connect the Vacuum Gauge.
At sea level with a stock cam you should find your sweet spot between 17 and 18 in-Hg.

ok, waiting for radiator but got to thinking, don't want to run old nasty water through the new rad, so any thoughts on flushing the coolant without a rad. can i just run fresh water in one hose and out the other and if so which one should be the in line and should i remove the thermostat.

Remove the thermostat for sure, as otherwise it will block the flow.

I bought some plumbing pieces at the hardware store, that allow me to connect a garden hose directly to the heater outlet port (which is easy on my car since I don't have a heater installed).

new radiator installed, after flushing system. i have started the car and it started right up but still need coaching on tuning the carbs. i'm a carb idiot, everything i've seen seems to be tuning a single dgv how do i deal with duals? I played with it some today and still seem to have hesitation off idle
