reports that TVR is to leave its factory in 6 months' time when its lease expires. The company recently laid off some staff and there are concerns over its future....

This is sad news... I hope they find other facilities soon and production continues without interuption.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

It'd be a shame to lose TVR....

yikes... this would suck indeed... even though we don't get new TVRs in the US (that I'm aware of), it's still tough to watch another British auto company go... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

The quotes from the laid off workers (on the Blackpool Today article) remind me of why I'm leaving my current job... Very similar situation... 10+ years at a job that was run very smoothly and profiting nicely, and a new so called "leader" comes in and cut's all the employees to the bone so hard, that they have no other choice than to leave where they've enjoyed working over the past many years. I feel for the guys in Blackpool. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

If you read through the last few years of posts on Pistonheads (a British (member nationality, not car) car forum with a huge TVR following) there have been lots of stories about labor troubles with the union since Smolenski took over (and some before that too I think). Doesn't surprise me that the union went to the press and spun a tale before the company press release at all. Of course, the company could be spinning too.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
