TVR Tasmin will not go over 4250 rpm?

I know a little about the K jetronic.....

It comes on the DeLorean

Have you checked the ECU yet?

As I believe the TVR uses the Bosch K jetronic system and the Alfa the Ljetronic system-any chance of splitting them on two different posts -to save confusion -as the checks are different for the two systems and the same symtom can be caused by one thig in K jet and another in L jet.For intance-the problem with the TVR is probably only mechanical and the problem with the alfa is probably to do with the air flow meter which the k jetronic doesn't have

It has been starting fine at hot or cold, It does have a little miss now at all rpms and the car seems to be on 2/3 power. Still will not go over 4250 rpms unless going down hill.

if as I believe it is K jetronic it does not have an ECU. but to clear things a bit-looking at the throttle where the throttle butterfly spindle is -is there a squarish plastic case attached to one side of the spindle usually black?or could you post some fotos of the injection head and the throttle body?

I unplugged O2 sensor from near the catalytic converter and the car runs like a top. I only drove it for 5 min. I will give it a longer drive to see if this is truly the “fix”. The car’s converter had been hollowed out by previous owner.

Where can a UK exhaust system be purchased from?

Don't waste your time looking for a kit exhaust. I had a local shop do mine with dual cats and all the pipes tucked in the frame. Lots of bends but I noticed that it immediately allowed the motor to breathe. Sounds great too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif! Cost me $900 installed including the 2 cats which were almost half the price.

So... what fixed the problem??? You still driving it with the delta sensor unplugged?

Yes, I guess I need to buy a new one. While I was under the car a couple of days ago I remembered that if you take your cat off or modify it, then your O2 sensor will soon go bad. I don’t know if I should even replace it. We don't have emissions checks in Knoxville. Even if we get the testing in the next few years the car will soon be 25 and exempt, it has "classic" tags anyway.
