Turn signal problems.

Newbie here working on a friends 1974 TR6 in Maine. Reasonably familiar with Mr. Smith and Mr. Lucas. Have read all posts related to turn signal problems, but thought I would ask for help before I get frustrated.

Here is what it is and isn't doing:

The basic problem is only the right side turn signals operate. However, the right side functions regardless of whether I select right or left on the turn signal switch. The turn signal flasher operates in both right and left postions.
The four way flasher lights work fine all the way around. All the sockets are clean as new.
Does the turn signal switch fail in this manner?

Rich, the four way flasher has nothing to do with the turn signals, your problem may be in the flasher unit in the passenger well up near the glove box on the door side. It could have fused the points together or a ground is hooked up wrong.

Bingo, Using the new diagram, I found that in the process of changing the brake pedal switch, someone had miswired the turn signal wires coming from the turn signal switch. Simple once you know the solution to the problem.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the form! I'm moving this to the Triumph form where you are more likely to have more replies from TR folks.

I'll ditto Basil's welcome; but since it seems the problem has already been solved ...
