TR6 Turn Signal Issue on 71 TR6

Went out for a drive last night and I noticed after driving for 30 minutes when I use the turn signal on it would flash slower and slower at each turn till it would not flash at all, When I got home and in the garage, I turned the lights off, the turn signals worked again, turned the lights on still worked but a little slower. the flasher unit is new, well couple of years old, electronic. Pulled the wires and put them back on, the battery is fairly new, dont think it has anything to do with that, I painted my car last year so everything was removed and all grounds cleaned. Any suggestions?

Thoughts on the signal problem:

- any corrosion in the bulb sockets can affect flasher operation, including whether the bulb has been lit recently (warm) or not (cold).

- any old wiring may change the resistance of the wire itself, which affects flasher speed

- the flasher itself could be failing; try a temp replacement with another similar flasher

- all the bulbs need to be the correct amperage ("watt"), so they "draw" equally. Older bulbs can develop non-standard "draw" of current

I've heard that North Carolina can be humid (!); even a few months of humidity, combined with road dust, can cause connection problems in bulb sockets.

Hope this helps.

I will confirm that the Battery is good and the Alternator is putting out(hehe)
check all connections and grounds and bulbs and purchase a new flasher unit

ok here is the update,, cleaned the connections. what i found was one of the front signals were reverse, parking light on one was bright and the other was dim which tells me the wires were backwards, fixed the issue and looked good
