TR4/4A Trunk Lid Seal

When looking at the Roadster Catalog page 22 - it shows the trunk lid seal going on the lid and not on the body. I was under the impression it had to go on the body as the lid does not have a ridge all the way around it to attach to - any help on this would be appreciated. Attached is a link to the page to the Roadster Factory page.

It goes on the body.
TRF image is in error.

Your question caught me by surprise. I was expecting the age old question of --Which way does the trunk seal fit on the car? Does the top of the seal lean into the trunk or away from the inside?
I believe that it should lean to the outside of the trunk--Just in case you might wonder after you get your seal.

When I installed TRF seal on my TR4 I could not get the trunk to latch as the seal was sticking out to far at the bottom of the opening.

I read this trick on a Triumph Forum. I ended up removing the seal along the length down by the rear bumper to the up turns and used an Exacto knife to make the groove in the seal, that fits over the lip, deeper by approximately 1/8 inch and then glueing that section of the seal back on. Worked fine after that.
