Trunk Failure

I'm waiting to pick someone up at the airport, and I can't get the trunk open on a late model Vandenplas. I'm not even sure I spelled that right. I know nothing about this car. There is no owners manual. I try the key in the trunk, no good. I find a valet switch, nothing. I find a fuse box with a diagram, which suggest the fuse is in the trunk. I end up not needing the trunk space, but what is up? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Maybe it's waiting for you to start calling it the boot. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I did, at the airport and I kept telling the boss to look under the bonnet for the fuses, till he got really annoyed.

Well the trunk, boot, whatever still doesn't open, the "growler" doesn't work. It won't key open. Anyone have a similar experience?
