Trunk and Hood supports

I need to replace my rusted and bent hood support on my 75 B ... and have seen the replacement gas type for the trunk. I know this will insult the purest but is there a hood support that is of the modern gas charged version? (I've seen them for the trunk but not the hood) Any particular reason to discourage one type over the other?

I have no clue..but these struts are NOT recommended for aluminium hoods.

Hi Rich,
I've converted to gas struts for both the hood and trunk /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dual struts for the hood and I used a single one for the trunk (because I'm going without a luggage rack,..Use 2 struts if you plan to keep the rack ).

All I can say is WOW,..what a difference!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif I love that signature quote! (especially since the first thing I did when I got my B home is install an airhorn)

Thanks for the advice. If it works .... I think I'll do exactly as Jerry is doing. Two on the front and one on the trunk.

Speaking of Jerry ... I feel like I'm at a series season end cliff hanger ... I need a new photo and update! I can't stand the suspense. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
