Anyone fitted replacement upper trunion needle type bearings in place of the thrust washers ? One uk supplier claims near power steering improvement !

I did it years ago. From Cape, IIRC. Some improvement, inexpensive, easy installation. "Power steering" is taking it a bit too far, esp with wider tires. As kids, we used to say "Power steering by Armstrong.":cool:
 
Thanks Steve probably worth doing then as not expensive as you say, but I will still be going to the gym for upper body strength ��
 
We did as well. Can't compare before/after, but it seemed like a good idea at the time, and I believe that it was. Doug
 
I agree with Steve. Did mine about 8 years ago. Don't have any objective numbers but an improvement over the original. Certainly not power steering but worth the small cost and minimal effort to install.
