True story from Georgia

A friend of mine, and a fellow 1LT in the Army, was cruising back to Ft Benning GA late one night from his home in NC when a local (just noth of Alanta) pulled him over for speeding. He said He knew he was busted so he leaned ove to grab his paper work from his glove box when across teh speaker the local police man to him "Boy, you bettter sit back up" So he did so with insurance papers in had. As the local approached the his 300 Z he started to put his window down when the Local said "Son, did I tell you to put your window down? Put it back up now and keep your hands on the wheels" He did as instructed and then the local was at the window and when he turn to look at the officer the officer said "keep you eyes straight forward boy and do not eye ball me". He said the officer shined his flashlight thru the car then tapped the window with his flash light in the drivers window and told him to put it down. By now he sees this officer is 300+ pounds of red neck. He is also very tired of the "Boy" routine but said he thought he had checked his temper pretty well. At this point The officer ask "Boy, do you know how fast you were going". My friend said before he could even engage his brain his mouth said " Not nearly as fast as Sherman was going when he burned this **** town to the ground". He said then next thing he remembered was coming out the window with out taking his seat belt off and being hand cuffed. He went to the local jail on disorderly conduct charges and he called me. I picked him up and we went to Ft Benning. The next day we went to pick up his impounded car (which had two flats now) and meet with the local magistrate. The magistrate explained the officer screwed up the paper work so he was letting my friend go for free, no ticket, no fine, no impound fees and he hope we could just forget about the incident.

I am pretty sure Ron White of the Blue Collar comedy group said it best, "He had the right to remain silent, however he did not have the ablilty to remain silent"

didn't Ron White also say, "I don't know how many of these bouncers it would take to beat me up, but I knew how many they were going to use!"

Well, that otta teach you d*** yankee's. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tupelo, one of my best friends when I was at Ft Benning got off active duty and went to work for for his daddy there at one of the big banks

What's his name? Is he from here or just moved here? Might know him or know of him. 2 BIG banks here, Bancorp South and Renasant Bank. Both have branches all over the south. Multi BILLION dollar operations(thats 9 zeros for you yankee's) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

His daddy was a big big big wig at one of the banks HQ-ed there. A 5 liter TR7, an interesting project. are you getting a engine from Woody or putting a ford into it?

I am using a Ford small block, T5 transmission and will probably use a 8.8 diff. Loooooong way from finishing. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think Woody had a ford diff in his but he has a Triumph engine bore out to 5 liter
