I have(had) a Chevy roll-back recovery truck but for the past six months have decided I really needed a pick-up instead. Very high dollar commodity in this rural farm and ranch area. Yesterday a guy walks into my shop with a pocketfull of money and drove off in my rollback. Doubled my money so thats good. The local Ford house said they had a 89 Chevy four door work truck...454 engine(ugh) that they had on the wholesale lot and couldn't sell...but it was low miles and clean. Anyhow, went and looked at it and come to find out they had inventoried it incorrectly. Was an extended cab 3/4 ton...two door with a 350 Vortec V-8. Not a dent, rust spot..perfectly clean interior, never smoked in. Has running boards, headache rack and a toolbox that gotta go. I bought it on the spot for $3500 and drove it home. My wife said she was impressed as most of my buys get towed home. This thing even has the factory towing package...springs, coolers heavy hitch etc. It gets a try out as we're driving to Albuquerque for a high school football game and MG parts run this week-end, about 250 miles each way.

Sounds like a good deal, any pictures?

Well done, Jack. Sounds like a proper tool.

good one!. I'm trying to back away from a deal that landed on me right now.. a 95 Chevy 2wd extended cab 1500 stepside. With a 350, new lines and hoses underneath, and set up to haul with hitch, wiring and brake module.... Man, think of what I could drag home with that!!!!
and all for $2200... mooooaaahahahahahahaha!
just back away, .......baaack aaawayyyyy!

I just got my first ever pickup....So far I haven't really even touched it because I am waiting for the weekend to give it a good cleaning....But it's good to know I won't be doing this anymore:

You'll have to get to Etobicoke Ontario as well to see the other half of the cars /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif But we'd love to have you anytime Tony.

Yesterday after staring at the truck....I realized I'm not a running board, headache rack...tool-box kinda guy. Its all gone now and will be advertised in the local Thrifty Nickel...My wife even noticed the difference when she pulled in last nite. She said"****...that thing sure is long" I grinned and she called me a pervert.
