I bought this on eBay and wonder what it is and also if it can be used.
1. The diameter s a bit over an inch wider than the standard fan.
2. The center web is only one piece, the original is two pieces that sandwich the blades.
3. The blades seem to be reversed.
4. The blades are steel rather than aluminum.
Seller claimed that it came off a Plus Four Morgan.
Your thoughts?

I don't know, but I'm curious: Do you have a reason to believe it didn't come off a Plus 4? I know they use a completely different fan, mounted to the water pump instead of the crankshaft. I don't think that's the standard fan, but they might well have offered a 'tropical' option.

I'm guessing it would work, if you can work out a way to mount it securely and on-center. Is the bolt pattern the same?

I didn't check the bolt pattern as my optimistic eyeball said they looked the same. When I tried it on a spare TR3 hub, however, I found that the center hole and the bolt pattern are both slightly larger, the bolt holes by about 1/8 radius. The do not have grommets either.
He did say that it came from his Morgan plus 4 so I had no reason to doubt. The yellow paint and steel blades do cast a bit if a shadow on it's origin though. Although I don't have a Morgan water pump pulley, the center hole on this fan does not fit the center of a TR3 pump. Of course, the Morgan pump pulley is different.
If I were to guess at this point I'd say The fan came off an old tractor, but he did say it was his Morgan.
Any Morgan people out there?

Tom
