The Piggot book "Original Triumph TR4/4A/5/6" says that the "The TR5/250 glovebox recieved an interior light operated by a plunger switch".

But I can't find one on my car, or in the factory parts book I have or in the TR250 specific wiring diagrams (although the early TR6 diagrams show it).

I am thinking the Piggot book is wrong about the TR250 glovebox light, anyone have any thoughts or an unmolested car to verify?

I do have a plunger, but it doesn't look like a switch just a spring loaded push so the door will come out when the lock is released, there I suppose because the thumb pull handle the TR4 and 4A had was deleted.

In the world of Lucas, the plunger is considered the switch. The actual light is provided by a short in the dash. Brightness will vary according to the size of the fire.

My 250 had one attached when I took the car apart. A spring on a contact with a wire coming out the back with rubber boot over it. However when i put the car back together 6 years later I could remember how it went back together. Like you I couldn't find any wiring diagrams so I eliminated it. Sure wish I had it at times.
