Hiya,

I've been looking for a few years for a model TR7 convertible. I see coupes on eBay all the time and even have found a few model stores that have them, but I can't find a convertible anywhere! I'd like a white one, or an unfinished one that I can paint white. Does anyone have any ideas?

Oh, and if you do, I'd love to know if you have ideas for getting a model of an Elan +2, also. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Wow, that's a pretty penny. I guess I don't want a model that bad. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks for the lead though,

Jeff

Add a zero and you'd be close to getting the "1:1 scale model" (would require assembly & painting at that price).

Many (30+) years ago I was working on the TR3 with an artist's brush and a bottle of touch-up paint (I guess I was 'detailing' but hadn't heard that term then). A friend saw me and said "That's not a car, it's just a big 1:1 scale Revell model". I decided he was absolutely right, and have maintained and driven them since with that thought in mind.

I actually picked up my TR7 for $1300. Drove it for a year with no more than a starter replacement. Now I'm rebuilding the engine and fixing a few things that need fixing. The engine didn't need rebuilding, but I have a nasty habit of wanting to rebuild engines. It did need a new throw-out bearing, so I figured I'd just do the whole engine while it was out. Why not? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I know that's off topic, but just saying that my $1300 got me something that didn't need assembly and painting. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
