I have a factory original New Old Stock TR6 engine block in cosmoline and shipping crate for sale. This block has never been built. it is NEW. The block has NO vin # and never has had. I doubt that there is another on the planet. NO REALLY. I purchased the block from the Roadster factory in roughly 1992. It is the REAL DEAL. If you were going to throw in the towel on originality on your late 6 restoration dont. If you blew up your motor dont quit. If you found that perfect 6, and then found that it doesnt have the original motor in it; you can solve that now. This may be your only chance to put that originality back into your TR6 by buying and building that # matching car.

I spoke with several full restoration shops around the country. I have been given a value of between $3500-$4500 for this item. I am looking to sell it and I know that there are a few people out there that NEED this to complete that perfect restoration. I am looking for that buyer. If you know him/her or that is you. Please contact me regarding this.

It sounds like you are saying that the new owner can stamp an old engine number on this one? Is that legal?

I can not make any assumptions regarding the legality. What I know is that my state indicates the an existing VIN cannot be "Altered". So, here in Arizona, and only in my opinion, placing an original vin on the correct car on a part that has never had a vin would not be illegal. The car already has a VIN, The engine does not. The Dept places assigned VINS on old unreadable cars all the time. This might be one of those situations where it is better to NOT ASK the question.
