When I turn on the heater switch the motor sounds like it is hitting something until it gets warmed up and then the noise stops and the motor runs fairly smooth. If I switch from the low speed to the high speed, the noise gets really loud. Has anybody else experienced this problem with the heater?

Terry,
sounds like you mat have a piece of trash on the blower, when fan is up to speed the trash is pushed to one side. Low speed, not enough air moving to keep trash in one place. You can pull heater out to remove the trash or run it enough and the trash will blow out or lodge somewhere out of place.

Marv, I was looking at my service manual on how to remove the heater; its a lot more work than I want to take on now. I'm wondering if I unhooked the hoses from the heater box and used my sweeper hose to see if I can pull anything out that way?
