TR5/TR250 Triumph TR5 tub

Went out on a call this afternoon to a client who has a body shop at his house. Got to see a very rare 1967 Italia that he is restoring for a client. His helper says to me that his next door neighbor has a TR sitting in the weeds that he will probably give away. Well lets go take a look..... In the weeds is a TR tub minus the hood and front fenders and suspension. It looks like a LHD TR4 from a distance. I look at the left front fender well and it says TR5!!! Well, I have to get home and have no camera, but I will make arrangements to get pics tommorrow. I know it is rare, but what is a TR5 tub worth. Could someone in the US restore a car missing so much and having such a rare PI system. Pics on Saturday!

All it takes is time and money! What you need is a "donor" TR250 to start out with and go from there. You have to remember that these cars were fitted with fuel injection in the UK ( and other countries) for at least 7 years so there are lots of spares to be had if you search around a bit. As for what its worth, thats a tough one to say. If it has been sitting outside for years pretty well everything will need to be overhauled/replaced but its value is what someone is willing to pay for it. Worth alot more in the UK than North American, but still worth alot more than a TR6 or TR250 in the same shape.
