Triumph TR Pushrods //rockers??

I was going to say I never heard of a wet liner engine having the block surfaced, but in fact I do know of one - and it created a major pain for the builder. So yes, 11.99 is pretty cheap insurance. But I'm a risk taker!

TR blocks are common and cheap, while as you say, having one decked is a major PITA. The liner seats have to be machined by the same amount, and then the pistons machined as well. And still, you're not likely to need more than .010" to clean up any damage or whatever, which is well within the range of the existing pushrod adjustment.

BTW, if anyone wants a wet liner block, I've got a couple that are probably going to the scrap yard soon. Been trying to give them away, but no one is interested. Just bare blocks, nothing else (for free that is).

I think that sometimes we believe that our engines are so unique that we have to rely on a TRiumph specialist for stuff like this, but in reality just about any engine builder has similar projects to deal with..

+1

IMO, the best parts suppliers are in the V8 and import race scene. Talent follows money...

you also may need different length pushrods if you change the rocker arms. IE: Roller Rockers changes the physics.

Important point I should have mentioned, my camshaft (Kent cams)has .310 lift (290) degrees duration, the rockers are stock. I do not know how much the head was shaved before I got it, but I took off 45 thou.

I agree that a 4 cylinder TR engine is a lot like one bank of a small block V8, some of the technology can be transferred.
