Triumph Steering Wheel Watch

I tried to post a picture of this watch on this site, but it keeps coming up with I'm using to much space. If you want to see a picture of this watch go to www.cardomain.com/ride/816145 and scroll to the bottom of the page. I just purchased this watch over the internet and was told it was produced in the 50s or 60s. It looks like a Old Triumph Steering wheel with the Triumph logo in the center hub of the watch and crystel. The logo is in color. It has swiss insides and has Old England written on the bottom of the front crystel. Does anyone have any information on when this type of watch was produced, how many, where they were made etc. I've tried to do internet searches, but came up with nothing. I think it's a very unique looking watch and would be desireable to Triumph owners. Sorry for not being able to get a picture posted on this site, but the above site will show you the watch as well as several of my projects. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Here's your pic. Nice watch, never seen one of these before.

Does it leak oil?

Geo, I don't know how you did it, but thanks for getting the picture on this site. Has anybody ever seen a watch like this before and if so, do you have any information on it. As I mentioned above, I've done several different searches and can't find any information on this watch.

I've owned one of these watches for several years now. I was told that
they were a dealer spif from the 60's. Sorry I don't have any more info. It is one of my better Triumph treasures.

Cheers,

Rob

Nice watch, wouldn't mind one myself - how much did it cost you on eBay, if you don't mind my asking?

I don't mind you asking, but I'd like to think I got a great deal. It was on a very obscured site on Ebay. It wasn't a Triumph site. Nobody even bid on it, but me. I won it for the grand total of $9.00. I have to say it was advertised as not working and it's not, but I figured for that kind of money, I will take it to a watch repair shop and get it fixed. I did several Ebay searches and could not find another one for sale. Rob, Where did you get the one you have and does the watch work??

I picked mine up on Ebay, several years back. They come up every once and a while. If memory serves me correctly I paid $70.00. The watch does work, I don't believe the band that came on it was the original though. Nothing a nice leather one couldn't fix.

Cheers,

Rob
