I have a 78 Spit, somewhat modified with 30 thousanths over flat top pistons, a hotter cam, Dual Weber Side Draft Carbs, headers and an Monza exhaust. I have to wear earplugs when I drive it to keep from going deaf. Fun little car. My wife and I had a Spitfire (new) in 74. It was a great little car too! We got stuck at an A&W Rootbeer place the day we took delivery because we could not figure out where reverse was LOL.

I currently own a 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500 in Inca Yellow. The car recently underwent a comprehensive restoration with a new bonnet (hood),new door skins, new sills, new seat covers, unleaded head, and various other bits. The car now looks and sounds great.
I look forward to discussions with other Triumph owners and learning of their joys of Triumph motoring,
 
I am sorry that it took me 7 years to reply, Bernie, hope you still have the Spit and are still an active member of the board!

My wife has a Pageant Blue '79 which needs the seats rebuilt, always fun to drive.

(Mainly responding so we can look back fondly to 1180 pages ago, quite a lot has happened since then!)
