TRIUMPH RACING GREEN

I was wondering if anyone know the paint code for Triumph Racing Green. My TR is almost ready to be painted.

What Triumph somewhat euphemistically called Triumph Racing Green or just Racing Green in the 1960s was also commonly known as Conifer Green, paint code #25.

It is NOT the same as what a duPont paint chart refers to as "British Racing Green" (1959-60).

I did a TR3A in Triumph Racing Green also known as Conifer. This is listed as a TR4 colour.

I had a TRG TR4A too, I think it is a fantastic color, favorite of mine of the various BMC/BL BRGs. MG made one that was lighter than the TRG color, the Jaguar color is very dark green. I have a funny story about that color, painted my first car with the Jaguar green (only BRG code my local supplier had even 25 years ago.

My brother was helping, neither of us had painted a car before. We were using old fashioned lacquer, the lacquer thinner we used was the cheap kind used for cleaning brushes and guns and such. Despite our best efforts the car ended up looking like it was covered in dry alligator skin, it was that rough. After much polish it eventually got smoother, but never much of a shine. Re-painted it the next year, it was all temporary work anyway, as it was an MGB with very terminal rust problems.

Check out member Kodanja's BRG TR6. It's a Jaguar color, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer looking TR6 IMHO.
