Triumph Italia on "Bat"

Interesting posting this morning on "Bring a Trailer":

Bat Excluisve: 1960 Triumph Italia 2000 Project

Oh, if only I had time / money / more money....

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

A bit out of my budget.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

Mine as well, but someone with very deep pockets needs to save that one!

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

This is more a comment on my poor decision making on projects, but when I say that car it made be shiver (not in a good way) at the amount of work involved.

Very-very cool, and hopefully she'll get picked up by someone doing her right.

Not sure that she'd be much more work than a similar TR4.... making the price seem reasonable actually.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

I'm loving that hand on the fender. Looks like someone has to hold the car in place for the photo.

Step #1 - rationalize purchase :yesnod:

I was thinking "has anyone seen Thing lately?". It's been about 1966 since the Addams Family were on TV.

Those cars are really pretty and proportioned very well. Pictures do not do them justice. Too bad they couldn't have just used that design for the 4.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

I'm thinking the McClaren that was also posted. In my neighborhood, sort of.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

So tempting. I am torn with the obligation I feel to see this rare car returned to the road in its former glory! Normally I'd be game but, from the photos this one is really beyond my skill, time and resources (i.e. money)

Hopefully, someone less practical than me will pick this up and run with it.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

I have too many "projects" in line already but do like the looks of it. Price is a little much for it. Its not that rare.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

Even in the shape it is in I think the line of the car are very attractive, not for me right now either, but would love to see it restored and on the road,

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

I had the chance to buy one of these in similar to worse shape in the late 1970s. It was around $3000 at that time. The price for this one may not be too bad if the seller is flexible.

Re: Triumph Italia on "Bat"

There's a 250 for sale today and the seller wants $18K
