Taking your Triumph apart! Come on admit it,just once wouldn,t you like to use a sawsall? and maybe an adz.I left out dynamite cuz its too loud. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Having a bad day?

Actually, I've been tempted to handle disassembly with my 8lb. sledge. For some reason I think a sledge would be more....satisfying. But the sawsall would be a close second.

Don't - I've spent a total of 12 hours - 9 today, 3 last night now fitting a header and an exhaust system. That's a ridiculous amount of time for a simple job. 90% of the time of course just trying to loosen old fittings. And because Moss can't send the right size clamps it's not finished.

I'd really like to use one of those self powered things you see cutting trenches in the road on it right now. A sledge seems too much like hard work - I want to make small chunks not dents.

A sawzall though - hmm - I'm off to Home Depot first thing tomorrow. I'll show it to the car as a warning (next stuck bolt and you get this instead of the socket set /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif)

Maybe that will help...

A sawsall would have come in handy on this TR-2 several times, but a little patience and alot of PB Blaster means I can actually reuse most of the parts I'm taking off!! That is if I can remember a year from now where they all go...up to 100+ digital pictures so far....

I used a sawsall on my Spit6 to get the trunnion bolts out. After an hour of heat, PB Blaster and various sized hammers the bolts didn't even slightly move. With the sawsall, the bolts were out in 5 minutes.

I promised myself to not get mad at the car. Whenever I begin to get angry and impatient, I clean up for the day. Its a hobby, working on the car "should" be fun and relaxing. However, huge badfuls of patience are need, like this stupid hacked heater return tube that I have spent hours on and it still isnt seated correctly.
