Does anyone know where I can get this tool? Preferably cheaper and in US currency?

I discovered it when watching the spitfire episode on Wheeler Dealers, but every time I ask local auto part stores about it, they have no idea what Im talking about. I guess thats because they havent made cars that would need this in such a long time.

you can make one
take a large spade screwdriver, heat and bent back upon it self (u shape)
then grind a 45 angle on each edge

Done, now that was easy

For what the part cost ,have a glass guy do the windscreen

Lisle 47000 $17.55 might do the trick. Remember- Parts stores cant get you parts right, half the time.Dont ever expect them to know tools. Just point to the picture in the sales flyer, hope the can transpose the number correctly, and they might get it right.

I think you can pick up something like that at Home Depot or Lowes. Look where they sell screen and storm window repair supplies.

Try crlaurence. They are a tool supplier for the glass industry

I've made 'em from heavy gauge wire coat-hangers. No sharp edges, works fine. Getting the shape right is a matter of bending with long-nose pliers. Soapy water as a helper lube will make that strip install job a lot easier, too.
