What size holes should I make in the fabric where the Lift-a-Dot fasteners go on hoods/tonneaus, etc.? How about the hood flap that goes over the Tenax studs along the top of the windscreen frame?

Thanks in advance.

What I used was a leather punch I got at a leather shop and they were numbered, but I made the hole as small as possible or just right. Remember to start in the middle and work out on both sides. Plus I would recommend waiting until summer or spring so the vinyl is supple. Or I guess if you have a very heated work area turn the heat up; it makes a difference because when the heat does come in the summer the top will be lose if done too cold.

Thanks, Steve.
I only have a hood stick cover to install, but the PO left a couple of LADs off the tonneau and installed the Tenax buttons incorrectly on the hood/top. The Tenax buttons will need to be moved off the flap and then I will need to make sure the flap holes fit over the Tenax studs. I'm guessing that a quarter-inch hole will suffice for the LADs, and maybe slightly larger for the Tenax studs.

FWIW, on the LAD I use the bottom plate as a template to make the 4 slits for the prongs, then install the fastener and use an X-acto knife to cut the hole. That way it all matches exactly, and I can see just how the fastener will relate to the edge binding.
