We have an 80 year old cherry tree,& an old apple
tree that were here when we moved in 31+ years ago.They're
getting eaten from the inside out,so they need to come down.
We're going to donate the medium parts of both trees to
Blue Ox Millworks,owned by a couple who works with kids,help-
ing them learn to build things by hand.

Can we burn the other limbs (not the small leafy ones)
in a fireplace?

Very hard wood Doug, burns slow when dry and makes romantic fires Doug.

Also do some shavings and use em in your bar-bi
 
Mmmmmm.. cherry and apple, good wood for smoking meats. Local BBQ chefs may really like to get the smaller branches from you.

Let it dry - stack it, off the ground and preferably covered - let the air circulate and use it next year to burn.
 
Are the smaller limbs better to use?I've still got a few left on the
apple tree,but haven't attackted the cherry tree.
