Your thoughts: If you were taking a 10+ hour road trip with your Healey, what tools and what spare parts would you take?

fuel line hose, hose clamps, radiator hose sealer tape, woman's stocking (fan belt temp), plugs, plug wrench, 3 gal fuel, fuel filter, points, coil, condenser, battery replacer, bright flashlight, crescent wrench set, vice grips, electrical tape, repair manual. Plus Smartphone and the number(s) of fellow club members willing to help.

Don't recall who, but somebody on the triumph forum posted a photo. Complete distributor (cap, wires, condenser, points), coil and fuel filter.
No futzing with internals in dim light. Plug it in and go. Complete sockets, end wrenches, screw drivers (including electricians), test lite, volt/ohm meter, wire, butt terminals, pliers, vise grips, .....

I'd just trailer a spare Healey behind me.

An LED lamp that clips to the battery wit a good length of leads so you have light anywhere around the cr.
needle nose pliers and vice grips.
Duct tape.
Jumper wire to hot wire the car if needed,.
Check that you have the needed wrench sizes. (I had a break down in my TR3A and found my 1/4" socket set was Metric not SAE)

Two wrenches: a 1/2" & 9/16". Wife's emery board, Channel-Lock pliers and a roll of duct tape.

If ya can't fix it with those, yer callin' th' Jerr-Dan.

Well it is the handyman's secret weapon.

I used to carry an emory board but about fifteen years ago I switched to a diamond file. They are a little thinner, are easier to clean up once done, and last longer.

Not to mention a lot more water resistant. šŸ˜‰

That's a fact. I also like mine because the smooth handle end is about 0.015" thick so it works to set the gap once the points are cleaned up.

Nicely done, Walt.
