Transmission shudders when hot

My 1967 BJ8 with less than 5000 miles on it since the renovation has a clutch judder when starting from a dead stop. All clutch parts were replaced then but not sure about the pilot bushing. It is okay when the car is first started and gets worse as it gets hot. I can work the clutch and run up the rpms which helps get it moving. Happens in reverse as well. Any suggestions? Motor mounts, transmission mounts? Bad clutch release, pressure plate, clutch disk, flywheel surface, worn pilot bushing? Any way to test short of pulling the tranny?

Does it do it in reverse? Given the newness of all parts, I would suspect a motor/trans mount. When I used to mess with old jeeps, they had this problem and were fitted with a restraining cable from tranny to frame (cross member?) to solve it.
