Transmission removal Quickie

Hey Tinster...I'm the "resident contrarian" here, but I've never had much luck removing the transmissions from these cars.
Consider, removing the engine and trans at the same time. Disconnect the exhaust, drive shaft, wiring, linkages and hood and out she comes. No heavy lifting, frees up the engine and the engine bay for cleaning. The first time you do it it will take about 3 hours, with practice you'll get it below 2, which is how long it takes me to align the input shaft while laying upside down in the "goatheads". I rent an engine hoist at the local Autozone.
Just a thought...
Take care Bob

Paul:

Confused a bit:

Moss #41 is an O-ring.... not a gasket

Moss #63 is a seat belt interlock switch
not three seals for retaing plate

Thanks Bob! You wrote:
"Disconnect the .....wiring, etc."

Would you believe me if I told you it just took
me 5+ months to install a total car wire harness?

Now I think I'll cover all the wires over with
Rezi-weld expoxy so they can NEVER be removed!!

I ain't never doin' nothing that will effect my new wires.

thanks for the tip. but the Crypt Car would never start
again if I took out his engine and tranny.

Sorry Dale. I was tired when I copied in the link last night and got stupid. #61 is the gasket (order 2) for the top cover and you will need (3) that means (order 6) of the #41 seals that fit over the shafts.
