When you do this every 5 years, you forget the secrets that make it easier. But it is done. Picture is the test mode. Not permanently mounted, and the adjustment on the belt was me pushing on the transmission. The system was not OSHA approved! We hooked up the speedometer so we could make sure to get the speed up to between 30 and 40 mph. Had to get all the air out of the system. That took awhile. But success! A thunk of the overdrive springing forward, and a resulting pressure at a steady 450 PSI. Not a job I would like to do all the time.

Beautiful, great picture! The sign of a true craftsman - not letting the lack of several thousand dollars worth of special equipment hold you back...and you appear to still have all your fingers & toes. Well done sir!!

Very nice. I hope you don't just rebuild your gearbox on a 5 year " whether it needs it or not" routine and you just mean the last one you did was 5 years ago. May you have many years more than 5 of smooth shifting and a trouble free OD.

If you think about the transmission and Overdrive. It is just a pile of parts. It is getting those parts into place which is frustrating. Now that I have the tranny ready, I am eager to put the drivetrain into the chassis. On most engines, I test them outside the car also. But without all the body parts, in the chassis is easy enough.
Body work is going slowly. Front shroud, and doors are left to get the dents out. Then I will have to wait for a warm day to paint.
