This sounds weird to me. The two bolts on my gearbox mount always have fluid around them. I'm not too familiar yet with gerboxes and clutches (hope to be someday) so I was wondering what is causing the leak. I've attached a picture (it's one I found on the web..didn't feel like going into the garage on this snowy morning) and I've marked the leaks. Any thoughts?

I'll bet the culprit is the gearbox cover. On the underside of the cover where the shifter arm accuates the shift fork rods are three o-rings. These babies eventually deteriorate and leak small amounts of gearbox oil which find there way along the connecting rods and eventually drip down to the tail section of the gearbox.
 
Or, as in my case, leaks that soaked the entire frame. These among other trans leaks pushed me to Quantum Mechanics for a rebuild/reseal which finally led to O/D conversion.

I do recall scraping copious amounts of oil soaked crud from my frame as well. But at least the thick stuff provided some rustproofing!
 
It also does a nice number on the trans mounts as far as softening up the rubber to make them break easier. Many added benefits to owning LBC's.
