I think I'm going to cry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Trailer full of classic Porsches in train wrea

Ohhhhhhhhhh!! I am now officially heartbroken! Hope the driver of the rig got out okay, but knowing what he had on board don't you think that he would have been just that little bit more careful? After all, it's not as if he had a load of new Chevys is it? Wonder what his insurance company are saying right now?

Ah it doesn't look so bad. A little bondo some spray paint, ahh who am I kidding thats horrible.

Man, and I thought it was bad earlier this summer when a friend of mine lost his trailer on the freeway with his Speedster inside!
OUCH.

Don't worry...some Internet dealer will buy them and then sell them online as "Concours Condition"

Wow... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif

According to one of the many other groups I belong to... this accident happened in Ventura, California, the truck hauling the cars got high centred on the railway track (I guess just before the train arrived), and that the driver barely got out just before the impact.

Tried a quick web search and couldn't find an article referencing this.

Re: Trailer full of classic Porsches in train wrea

Sorry I don't know how to get the article onto the Forum, but if you go to today's Los Angeles Times - www.latimes.com - and scroll about 1/3 of the way down the page to California, then click onto Ventura Co., there's an article - second one down under Region and State. The cars may have been leaving a Porsche car show in Ventura over the weekend.

You GO girl!

(it's still kind of sad to see all those nice cars mangled....everyone should own at least one 356 in their life).

Re: Trailer full of classic Porsches in train wrea

Yes! Living dangerously!!

This new paint job is a bit of a headache - anxiously awaiting the first door ding or rock chip - but she's oh so gorgeous! Then there's the threat of the cats jumping on the car. Didn't pay much attention to that thread before, but am now going to go back and read it!

And yes, so sad - The 356 is definitely on my "Wish I Had One of Those" list (but not one of THOSE!)
